Backend Developer – Python (5+ Years Experience)

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer who knows how to build reliable, secure, and scalable systems in Python. This role is for someone who understands databases, APIs, system design, and production realities. If your experience is limited to scripts or tutorials, this role is not a fit.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs
Build scalable systems using Python frameworks
Own backend architecture, data flow, and integrations
Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and security
Handle authentication, authorization, and data protection
Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, and external APIs
Debug and resolve production issues with minimal supervision
Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams

Required Technical Skills

Backend & Frameworks

Strong proficiency in Python
Experience with Django / Django REST Framework or FastAPI / Flask
RESTful API design and implementation
Background task processing (Celery, RQ, or equivalent)

Databases

Strong experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL
Solid understanding of database design, indexing, and optimization
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus

System & Architecture

Experience building scalable, high-availability backend systems
Knowledge of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached)
Understanding of API security, rate limiting, and data validation

DevOps & Deployment

Git with clean commit and branching practices
Experience deploying Python applications to production
Familiarity with Docker and basic CI/CD pipelines
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure) preferred

Required Experience & Expectations

Minimum 5 years of professional backend development
Experience working on production-grade systems
Ability to design APIs that frontend and mobile teams can depend on
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership
Clear communication and documentation habits

Nice to Have

Experience with microservices architecture
Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
Knowledge of GraphQL
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry)
Experience in fintech, SaaS, or high-traffic applications
