Role Overview
The Brand Editor will be responsible for defining and elevating the editorial voice of Foodstories across all platforms. This is not a conventional copywriting role. We are looking for someone with a strong editorial instinct who can identify compelling stories, commission and edit content, maintain exceptional writing standards, and build an editorial identity that reflects the Foodstories brand.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Strategy
● Develop and own the editorial vision and content strategy for the Foodstories brand.
● Build an editorial calendar covering food, culture, travel, craftsmanship, design, sustainability, and lifestyle.
● Identify meaningful stories that strengthen the brand's positioning and customer connection.
Editorial Content
● Write, edit, and commission long-form and short-form content across digital and print platforms.
● Produce compelling features, interviews, essays, newsletters, campaign narratives, founder stories, and brand publications.
● Edit all marketing and brand communication to ensure clarity, consistency, and editorial excellence.
Brand Storytelling
● Discover and tell authentic stories behind products, producers, chefs, artisans, and culinary traditions.
● Translate business initiatives into engaging editorial narratives.
● Shape the voice and personality of the brand across every customer touchpoint.
Publishing & Content Production
● Lead the creation of brand magazines, journals, coffee-table books, newsletters, lookbooks, and editorial campaigns.
● Collaborate with photographers, designers, illustrators, and creative agencies to produce visually compelling editorial content.
● Ensure high editorial standards in both print and digital formats.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Partner with Marketing, Culinary, Retail, Café, and Design teams to create integrated campaigns.
● Support product launches and events with strong editorial storytelling.
● Work with PR teams to develop press materials and thought leadership content.
Editorial Governance
● Establish editorial guidelines, writing standards, and brand language.
● Review and approve all written communication before publication.
● Mentor freelance writers and external contributors when required.
Desired Candidate Profile
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, English Literature, Mass Communication, or a related field.
● 5–10 years of editorial experience with a leading publication, magazine, newspaper, digital media house, or publishing company.
● Strong portfolio showcasing feature writing, editing, and editorial leadership.
● Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
● Deep appreciation for food, culture, travel, lifestyle, and design.
● Experience collaborating with photographers, designers, and creative teams.
● Ability to balance editorial integrity with commercial brand objectives.
