Role Overview
KEY FUNCTION:
The Senior Merchandisers and Merchandisers are the key contacts for the local follow-up of the product
development phases before and after order confirmation. They meet the client team’s needs locally, by
sourcing products & suppliers, allocating products to vendors for development and negotiating prices,
lead time and quality in accordance with the company’s specifications and by ensuring on time delivery
of the required products. They are responsible for their department objectives by developing efficiency
and competitiveness of their department.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPERATIONAL -
1. Filter with “Client’s Eyes” and follow product development phases with vendors by managing
directly with the Client business team/procurement team.
2. Receive, send and store samples
3. Ensure proper costing of the request product, lead the negotiation with vendor & be responsible
for achieving target objective in terms of competitiveness.
4. Follow the production and monitor capacity booking with vendors and technical services
5. Key contact with the Operation team to find the solution in case of issues: delays, commercial
decisions needed, too many rejections, order shortage…
6. Lead claim management with the rest of the members of the department
7. Set target for supplier performance and implement the corrective action plan to improve KPIs
8. Distribute and implement the new norms and procedures to vendors and ensure the training
9. Develop and populate fair business behavior keeping in mind social compliance and
environmental as a priority
10. Collect Data related to products and vendors as part of regulatory data requirement in Europe
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT -
1. Provide guidance, advice, and support to internal (less experienced peers) and external
(vendors, 3 rd party company offering services etc) to help them develop and be more efficient.
2. Contribute and be actor in company projects to develop efficiency and support changes of the
organization
3. Including but not limited to the previous responsibilities, the company can also require the
Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser, to carry out other duties (tasks, projects, temporary
missions, etc.) that may be assigned by the Leadership on specific matters
EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in the garment industry.
2. Apparel industrial production processes knowledge - Knit / Woven
3. Strong commercial sense and knowledge of consumer/fashion trends
4. Solid retail interest
5. Able to manage end to end product life cycle with the support of cross functional teams (i.e.
technical, quality, operations and compliance)

1. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
2. Collaborative with ability to work across different functions and geographies
3. Excellent people and project management skills
4. Able to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment
5. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word & MS PowerPoint
6. Strong communication abilities to work well with both internal colleagues and external suppliers
7. Independent, self-motivated, responsible, detail-oriented, well-organized, team-oriented, and
flexible
8. Proficiency in written and spoken English
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:
1. Bachelor or above degree in Textile/Fashion/Clothing
